I've read this was a special resurrection of the Terrapin 5k to coincide with the Dead's farewell weekend in Chicago - and I'm happy I had the chance to run it, as it was well facilitated and a positive Thursday night event.

I can't comment on packet pick-up as mine was picked up by my sister the day before, but we followed directions and printed out the separate confirmations and pick-up went smoothly.

I liked the tie-dye shirt and hat, and enjoyed a slice of pizza and beer (served immediately) after the race. I quickly got my over-21 wrist band, as well as dropped-off and picked-up my bag from gear check. It was well-staffed and folks were friendly and helpful.

There were multiple flaggers on the route ushering runners along the correct path, and luckily there was someone alerting runners to a patch of uneven bricks on a small downward slope that I thought could potentially roll a few ankles, but didn't result in any issues that I saw.

Laid-back atmosphere, and easily navigable, RAM races get 2 thumbs up.
