Honestly, where, to begin with everything that was wrong with these races ( Living Dead Challenge).
1) Change of time for the 5K, post sign up, from a PM to an AM, and then saying it had always been that way-
2) No clear marking to where race started - walking over 2.6 miles to find it and Park rangers indicating that the race director had no idea as of the night before.
3) 1 bottle of water only after 5K
4) Parking too far from wherever the race started or finished
5) a shout of "go" to start the race, chip finish - highly inefficient
6) Incorrect mileage on both races
7) Pitiful "goodie bags" only papers, and advertisements, and 3 total can covers of an advertisement from an attorney, frontier, and monster drink I think, threw them all out
8) Age division of 10 years, stopped at 50 years old - that's wrong ! or plain cheap
9) Old brown bananas after the Half Marathon, again 1 bottle of water basically, and inedible granola bars
10) Children manning first water station
11) No monitors, volunteers or medical personnel in attendance on the course
12) Dollar Store "trophies" = cheap
13.1) 1 Rude volunteer
There were other things, but one gets the idea to stay away from the race, in which I overheard another person say, that these races never had repeat runners, My guess is to just shut it down altogether or hire a real company to start all over again, with a 2-year break.
Advice: find a bigger and better race to do.
