This is the most poorly managed race I have ever run. The race itself was expensive for a half marathon, and runners still had to pay for parking on top of that. Days prior to the race, organizers posted on social media lauding the great race conditions - they apparently thought running in temperatures in the high 70s and 80s with 90% humidity were good conditions. At the least this was regrettable and out of touch, at most it was dangerous to not warn people to make sure they came in hydrated. We were warned when picking up our bibs that the timing chips were "sensitive to moisture" and to try to avoid getting them wet - something that is impossible on a race day with temps in the 80s. Possibly worst of all, now more than 48 hours post race, results are still not available in any form. There were not even preliminary results available on race day. The awards ceremony was delayed over an hour purely for the fact that they were having trouble "printing the results." I just can't say enough how poorly this race was managed. Race organizers have not addressed the issues and calls to the management organization said results would be posted eventually - which isn't going to help those who ran this as a Boston Qualifier.

I love this race. I've run it every year since it started, and it just keeps getting better. It's a net downhill course with massive crowd support throughout the city. The back half of the course can be a little boring, but culminates in a really fun finish in the heart of downtown with a ton of people cheering and music playing. Bands line the course and the aid stations are plentiful. This race company has been great at taking feedback from runners every year and making adjustments to the experience. The expo has probably grown enough that it could stand to be in a larger venue - it was so crowded and packed that it was a little hard to maneuver but in the scheme of things that's a great problem to have. Whether it's your first half or your fiftieth, this race is a great time every year.
