Overall this was a great race, but it is EXTREMELY HILLY! At some points the hills were so steep I couldn't run up them, but the perk of that was coming down them. I ran a PR at this race, but my legs felt it for a while after. Other than the hills the aid stations were great. The original Makers Mark bottle you could purchase was beautiful. The scenery was stunning, beautiful horses ran alongside you most of the course. Plus the other runners were extremely nice.

RnR is not really short race friendly. They cater to the longer distances more than the shorter races. I felt like I was just a side thought to make money. The medal was super small (which is understandable), the bands on the course were awful, think love ballads and bagpipes...It just wasn't everything it was made out to be. My expectations were very high, and they were not met. Also, NOLA is beautiful, but we didn't even run by a majority of the cool attractions. They did have a great shuttle service back to the hotel.

This is the best race I have ever been to. Seriously raising money for the kids at St. Jude is amazing, and the hospital treats you so well. I received a free dinner, access to the hospitality suite, race fuel, a JBL speaker, St. Jude Head Sweats hat, St. Jude Race Singlet, and St. Jude Backpack, just for raising $1500. The course was full of cheering fans, and happy faces. The water stops were well prepped and full of happy people cheering you on. It was a dream race. Can't wait to do it again in 2017!

This was the first half marathon I have ever ran, and it is a decent race. The race course hits every single hill in Tupelo, MS, but the hills are small. I will say the race director is not nice to inexperienced racers. Asking "dumb" questions will get you a rude response, and he isn't a pleasant person in general. The aid stations are great, but there are very few people on the course cheering for you. It is also a loop course, so you run the half marathon loop twice, for the marathon. The best part about this race is the amazing race shirt, and medal. The design is always on point.
