As this was my first ever half marathon, I really did not know what to expect, but here are my observations:

Bib pick-up/Pre-race: Arrived about an hour before the race and had plenty of time to get my bib, stretch and find my way to the starting gate.

Race: The first mile of the course was densely packed and hard to maneuver. There were some 3000-ish runners so this was expected. This course has some serious elevation climbs, specifically mile 3 and mile 6/7 i believe. Besides these few steep climbs, the race was relatively flat and scenic. The 2nd half of the race take place almost entirely on a narrow, dirt path which was okay for the most part with slower runners mainly sticking to the right side. Hydration stations and wet towels were well positioned and always full staffed.

Post-race: Free mediocre slice of pizza, two nice craft beers and a bunch of free Kind/Frozen Yogurt bars. I was not as strict with my training as I should have been which showed in my course performance, but after the race I heard numerous groups talking about how difficult/challenging this course was.
