I ran my second marathon here. Great crowd support, volunteers were amazing. They all call you by name and encourage you! I wasn’t used to that. Most races the volunteers are just shouting the word wager or Powerade. The course did narrow some during the half. There were not many ports potties or water stations on the back half. Other than that it was an amazing race experience. The finish tent could have used more food after the marathon. Something other than Irish Stew.

We did not get to the hotel until late Friday night before the race so I was glad they gave us the option to pick up our race shirt and bibs race morning. The weather was nice and I really liked how the race started early at 6:30 AM. The course was a lot more hilly than I expected and some of the trails were uneven. I tripped twice! I really liked my shirt and the medal though. That course was tough!

This was my very first Azalea Trail Run. I have been running over 4 years and have signed up for it twice and not been able to go. This year, I was finally able to run it and it was a lot of fun! Huge crowd and of course the Azalea Trail Maids. The weather was really warm for March, but I was really happy with my finish time. 10k's are hard to find down here and I love this distance!

It was a great race! Perfect weather, great course which was flat, beautiful views, awesome volunteers and loved the shirt and medal! It's a great race so close to home and my home state. A great community of runners came to run the Gulf coast. Everyone was super nice and friendly. Very encouraging. I would definitely run it again!
