This was my first marathon, and I ran it with my dad. It was hands down, the best first marathon. This city comes together for this and it is amazing. For the most part it's pretty flat, with a semi-intense hill at the half-way point. The hydration stations are a blessing, especially at mile 23! And to the family the hands out gummy bears outside their home? There aren't enough words available to properly thank them. The commentators at the end of the race along with the large crowds cheering you on is what anyone needs for the last minute energy boost to cross the finish line strong. And then for Big Sky Brewery to hand you a beer at the end, it makes the experience perfect, no matter how much your legs hurt. Travel to Montana and run this race.
