The Cooper Norcross Run the Bridge 10k is an awesome race that I try to do each year. The race starts on the Ben Franklin bridge and ends at Rutgers Camden baseball Field. Ample, free parking is available. If coming from PA, make sure to get over the bridge to NJ before 7:45 when they shut it down for an 8:30AM start.

The course starts on the Ben Franklin bridge on the NJ side. You run over and back for the first 5K (holy hills!) then complete the last 5K in Camden (very flat). They seem to change the route through Camden ever so slightly each year, but it keeps things interesting. Nevertheless, you are guaranteed to run past the Battleship NJ. There are clocks at every mile so you have a good idea of pace. Not too much crowd support, but lots of volunteers cheering. You finish on the (now Rutgers Camden) baseball field and get your medal and water. Don't feel like a 10k is enough work to get a medal, but I'll take it. Walk up the stairs (close to packet pick up and gear check) and there is plenty more water, bagels, and bananas. Bonus: There are bags, courtesy of ShopRite, to put everything in it.

Pro tip! Get your ID checked before the race (by packet pick up) to get a wristband and easy access to free beer post-race.

The race directors do a great job of communicating parking information. Follow the map for places to park if you want to get out quickly. You won't be disappointed. The shirt is a long sleeved cotton t-shirt, but you can upgrade to a tech shirt for an extra charge. There are plenty of bathrooms (portapotties on the walk from the stadium to the bridge and real bathrooms in the stadium) so even with a line, it moves quick!
