This was my first “real” trail run. As a Pittsburgher I usually run well groomed park trails. Little did I know what a real trail was like. Lol. Despite the out of season 90 degree weather it was awesome! I had a horrible finish time, I knew going in it wouldn’t be great but, the scenery was spectacular and more than made up for it. And crossing the cool Paluxy river at .5 miles from the finish line was was just what my feet needed to convince them to pick up the pace and hit the finish line! I would recommend this race to anyone but especially to seasoned trail runners and ultra trail runners for the 50k, 50m, and 100m distances!
