I chose this race to be my last state on my 50 states marathon quest. They have a HUGE medal, nice shirt, great RD's too. They even gave me bib #50 for being my 50th state. This race had indoor seating where your family could watch you finish on the big screen tv in inclement weather (which we had.) Also the start and finish are right at the host hotel. You can stay indoors until just a few minutes from the start time. So cool! Wonderful aid stations, lots of food and drinks to chose from. SO many volunteers and the pacers were amazing!

Wonderful event. Just the right size. Weather is good for that time of year. Pretty course. Great swag. Hotels close to the start and they provide buses to get you back to the start. It’s a great race if you need one for South Carolina! Shrimp and Grits and beer at the finish. You really get a great tour of the area on the race. Charleston is a beautiful city and wow, talk about great food in that town!

If you are looking for a first time ultra or a ultra to get a PR at, this is your place. This past year Cammile Herron set the 100 Mile World Record in under 13 hours. So amazing! I got my second best 50 mile time ever here. It’s easy to get to, pretty course, well organized and great aid station food. The tunnel is really cool too! I’d do this race again for sure.

I enjoyed everything about this race, except the shirt sizes ran WAY too small. My women’s Large looked like a baby shirt. They didn’t have anything to exchange it for but they did decide to mail out new shirts in the correct sizes. Guess the manufacturer screwed up on it this past year. But everything else about this race was wonderful and they made good on the shirts. It was a great shirt too. Medals are super cool. Great start/finish area and the course was so nice. Loved the tour of the city!
