this race is hard. uphill for the first half of the race and more climbs to follow. you will offset everything on the downhill but no XTERRA is easy.
the race is small and limited participants. I think there at=re just number of people thta can be on the trail.
The expo is small. almost nothing. Just some brands selling their products. the race has a 4hour time limit. so not really open for super slow walkers. there is shorter distance to start. I did the 18K
The t-shirt is cotton and shrinks. but the XTERRA is really visible so i will wear it everyday. haha.
Just like any trail you can park at the foot of the trail. a couple of meter walk to the start line.
this is very challenging, this first race that I did gave me all the confidence to do the rest. once you do an XTERRA you can do all Trails!
DEFINITELY A BUCKET LIST EVENT.
port-o-potty is only at star/finish. another challenge. There is aid station but i recommend bring your own hydra pack

My Favorite T-shirt. it doesn't look like a tech tee from a race.
Parking is very accessible, but expensive, $15.
Expo is big enough and generous.
Course is easy, a little bit of elevation (highway 1 loop) scenery is ok but looping it is kinda boring already.
The distance is perfect especially if you are already doing half marathons. If you haven't done the Surf City Half Marathon, do this first to prepare for the 13.1 version. since it is almost the same route.
Well organized, sponsors are generous.

This is my favorite beach city race, I don't remember passing the same scenery. You will run at the park, bridge, ocean, queen mary, road.. not a boring loop like surf city. there is a little bit of elevation going up the freeway
T shirts is ok, simple and perfect sizing.
Bib pick up is at the convention center so be ready to pay the "convention center rate" parking. race day parking is ok. we parked at the building structure a mile away from the start.
Race day expo is ok. not free race day photo. medal is cool too

I will make the review simple and short. The expo is too small in my own opinion. I am used too big generous expos but it doesn't matter because this is just 10k.
Parking is of course expensive because the start is Venice Beach are. although the parking is accessible, you must be ready to pay. I am a Santa Monica Person and lives like local (I don't live there but I know all the cheapest). I park 2 miles away to the start and I only pay $2.00 compared to $10 for an hour run.
There is a little bit/gradual elevation. The race is big so if you are planning to PR make sure you are near the front.
I don't like the shirt because it fits like extra large for an XS size.
I did this race to complete my CONQUR CHALLENGE

this event is very generous for a small race, (elite sports california) every runner will receive a drawstring bag with water bottle and your shirt, plus if you will complete 2 races in the same distance you will receive extra shirt. this event also offers series. completing 3 races only. and a season medal, completing 7 races.
the route is at the bike path from a park. clean air. but i sinc this is for beginners, there's a lot of walkers and strollers. so be patient.
expo is small an no big sponsors with goodies. there is taco and beer at the finish.
I received my extra shirt on this event since this is my 2nd race of the same distance (1ok)
