I loved everything about this race! The expo was great. It was easy to get my bib and they had some nice vendors to check out. As for the race, I recommend parking at the start rather than the finish. It was easy to park and to get a shuttle back at the end of the race, and it was free! There were a ton of runners but it never felt crowded. The course itself was beautiful, with great scenery almost the entire way. Tons of aid/water stations with water, Gatorade and snacks. I loved that so many residents came out to cheer us on, or even set up their own water stations! The finish line was filled with supporters and the announcers were so entertaining, yelling out finishers as they crossed the lines. The medals were fantastic and I loved how Saje was at the end waiting for runners to give them some pain relief.
I also ran the 5k the evening before, and that event was just as well run. I will definitely be back next year!

I ran the half marathon for the first time and enjoyed it! I got a huge PR and finally ran a half under 2 hours, most likely due to the mainly flat course. My only concerns were the start time being so late (it got very hot those last 5 miles with the sun facing us), not having official corrals (people were definitely not paying attention or just didn’t care, it was very difficult to get going into my regular pace while running around people), and the narrowing down to one lane at one point. Hoping these things may change for next year since it seems like many runners have said the same things.
The weather was great, lots of water stations and tons of support along the route. What is better than running with the ocean next to you for the most of the race? It's a great way to get moving before all those superbowl treats :) I will definitely be back next year.
