I have loved this race since the first year they started it ! This was my first year running the 1/2 marathon in a few years since having kids. But it was another great race experience. Cool/ Cloudy day .
Expo was set up in Choice Health and Fitness Gym in the gym area, well organized and lots of local running venders.
Participants received socks and a really nice quarter zip pull over. Light green in color.

The weeks leading up to the race they were in desperate need of volunteers for the aid stations. Some were lightly manned on the 1/2 marathon course, I am not sure on the marathon course.

Crowds were okay throughout the race.

Overall, a great course and great experience. Will run again this fall.

This race has my heart ! It's my home town race and I've been a part of it for many years, as a racer and/ or a spectator.
Many aspects of the race are similar from year to year which is nice because it makes it easy for repeat runners . Firday Night my family took part in the Kids Fun Run. There was a 1/2 mile and mile run that started and ended right where the bigger races start and end. Also, the 5k is held that night . All 3 were great events, and well attended, despite how cold it was. At the conclusion of the fun run, all kids received a really cool medal, a water bottle and they also had water, granola/protein bars, apple slices and root beer floats for the kids ! TOTALLY AWESOME !
Weather conditions were cool Saturday morning, They had the building next to the start open to house runners until just minutes before, large bathrooms and it was warm.
The full marathon began at 7:00 and the Half and 10k started at 8:00. The 10k running the same beginning miles as the half.
The race course was well marked and for how cold it was, pockets of crowds were great ! Aid stations and water stops were also well manned.
I ran the winning time for the females and got to break the tape at the end (1:29:39).

Overall, this is a great small town race, supported by tons of local businesses. A Great Fall event !

This years grandma's marathon turned out to be the ideal day to hit a PR, for a lot of people. The weather going into the weekend looked a little iffy. Rain was in the forecast. As a runner, the weather can always cause a lot of worry / extra stress. But, it's out of our control, whatever happens, happens, right?!?

The morning of the race was perfect, cool, a few clouds and actually, as we got off the buses in Two Harbors, the sun was shining. As the race started, the clouds rolled in and remained. Ideal weather. mid - upper 50s .
As the race went on the weather remained the same, at one time mid race even misting. Crowds were awesome along the course, and aid stations were extremely well manned. Was very impressed.

Coming into the city of Duluth, the crowds did not disappoint.

Overall, fantastic race, beautiful course, cool weather. Ideal day for a 19 minute PR. Will Be going back again !

This years frozen feat was another well - run race event. Packet pick-up was set up in Scheels. Staff was quick and attentive to get runners their gear/bibs.
Morning of the race was cold, but the sun was shining. Pre/Post race was held in Central High School. Food spread was good for runners to refuel when they finished. Awards were promptly following the wrap up of both races.
Top finishers received coffee mugs and gift cards to Scheels.
Course was run on downtown streets and greenway running/bike trails. Race committee did a great job making sure all pavement was clear of snow/ice.
Great Event and Very Well run . Will run again next year!
