What a great race! Everything about it was very well managed and planned. Course was great and very scenic! Fairly flat course with water stations very well placed between the miles on the 5k course. At the PPU (Packet Pickup) I was given the wrong size shirt. When I brought it to the merch table on Race Day to trade in sizes, the girl gave me a half shirt instead because they didn't have any 5k shirts left. I love everything about this race. It will always hold a special place in my heart. I can't wait to run their half next year as my first half ever!

I did this race last year and was really excited because it was at Mission Bay/Tecolote. The course was a little cramped with runners going toward mile 2 and back to finish line on the same sidewalk. I almost got elbowed in the face on my way to the finish line. There wasn't enough space for people to run next to each other and also have room for the walkers on the same path. I don't remember them having aid stations out. It was fairly flat though.

Last year I ran the 5k thinking that I would get a medal for running the 5k. At the finish line, there was only a medal for the 15k runners and no medal for the 5k runners. All participants get a steaming mug of hot chocolate with a Rice Krispies treat, some pretzels and marshmallows on the side. It's the best part of the race. I ran it for the first time last year and wore a giant blue tutu.
