This was my second year running the 1/2. I will be doing this every year that my kids go to Syracuse University (and might even make the 4 hour drive after they graduate). The weather was great - a little snow, but temperature was great for Syracuse and there was little wind. The event is run perfectly - I can be very critical but I am hard-pressed to find any flaws - water/gatorade stations were well organized; mile markers were clear; runner spacing was adequate even in the beginning; the jacket is worth the entrance fee by itself; community is friendly and supportive (only suggestion would be to try to get more community members out along the route); AND the syracuse police, public safety and volunteers could not have been friendlier - they were keeping us safe while they were cold and snowy and continued to smile and cheer us on. I encourage everyone who wants to do a 1/2 to pick this one but there is one caveat... you may be disappointed with other events after experiencing this first - they have set and maintained the bar at a very HIGH level. Well done Syracuse!!!!!!
