First I would like to say, as a USMC wife, this race was very special to me.This was my first marathon and my first experience with the MCM and it definitely did not disappoint! The race was all around amazing from the beginning to the end. The spectators alone made the race. Would I recommend this Marathon to anyone looking at it to do as their first? YES! Simply amazing is all I can say.

Over all I love this race. As a USMC wife, I appreciate where the money goes. The aid stations are always a blast and so full of energy. Most of the route has things to look at and keep you busy, but there is some areas that seem to drag. My only other complaint would be the pitched roads, there is a lot of it. The medal is usually awesome and they always have a great theme. Definitely worth doing at least once.

By far one of my favorite races in this area. Something about running over the bridges while the sun is rising: breathtaking. But I’m a pleasant way. The post race party is always a blast, and I always walk away with a smile on my face. The medal is usually beautiful as well. Definitely worth doing if you’re in the area. I highly recommend it.

Definitely worth doing for the gorgeous sunrise alone. There is a section of the route that is a weird angle but other than that it’s flat. I will be running it again in Jan for the third time, just before we move from the area, and I can honestly say I will miss this race once we move. The medal is always beautiful and the post race party is always good. Even if it’s only 40degrees out, they do their best to make it comfortable. I would recommend this this race for sure!

Overall I enjoyed this race. The route was nice, even though I have seen these roads a million times, there was enough going on to keep my mind busy. The post race party was good as well, they had a lot to offer to the runners and the runners supporters. The medal was really neat, with the race being on Veterans Day weekend, it followed that theme. I would definitely recommend this race to others.
