A small marathon that was run as professionally as any big one I've run. This is a community event, heck even the Mile marker signs are posted permanently! Well organized expo, great hotel partner deals with 1 PM checkout pre-arranged, busses from finish to start and even from the hotels. A fantastic point to point race, well supported by law enforcement and volunteers. Post race was awesome with 2 free beers and food trucks to choose from, as well as several large HEATED race tents with free massage and places to sit and hang out while drinking and eating.

The forecast for my originally planned race turned for the worse as it got to race week, and since I was looking to BQ and can travel easily I searched across the country for an alternative. I chose the One City Marathon based on excellent reviews and perfect forecast weather, and my expectations were far exceeded! It is truly a community event, and while the marathon is small with around 350 runners, there's also a marathon relay, a half, an 8k and a kid fun run. The other races are deconflicted with the marathon, the half starts at the same time at the half way point which I really appreciated.

Perfect temps, flat and fast, superbly organized...and I did finally achieve the elusive BQ!

If I lived closer I would run one of the distances every year, Its a fantastic event!
