I’ve always loved this race. It’s at altitude so keep that in mind, but the views are amazing! I hardly even notice I’m racing here as I take in the sights of Denver. The 10k course is long, don’t start sprinting in till you see the capital building! Only complaint is they never have enough sizes at the expo. I wear size medium and two years in a row they were out of my size in everything.

I can’t stress enough how awesome this course is! When you’re going to prep for a half or a full marathon, you want to know that you have a chance to run fast! It’s still a half marathon, but with a flat course with great weather, the table is set to get that’s PR! Only negatives for me were that they only gave awards to top three overall when they said age group awards would be given! I also had sent an email to the elite coordinator and never received a response back which was disappointing.

This course has some beautiful views, but prepare yourself for a tough climb mile 8-11. The rest of the course is nice and fast, but that section keeps you honest!! The aid stations were great, there were lots of restrooms by the start and plenty of water along the course. After the race be sure to know which way to exit, I went the wrong way and spent a good 45 mins trying to find a place to cross the street to get back to my hotel.
