As a local Savannahian, this is by far my favorite in the area and I've run them all! First off, I love that you get a bag instead of another T-shirt. This year's bag was a duffel bag, though I've loved some of the other bags I've received in the past a lot more. The race route truly highlights the beauty of Savannah and you get to run through several of the "squares" and parks. I felt as though it was very well organized from start to finish, including when there was a mix up with my friend that I ran with. Her bib number wasn't attached to her name and the on-site management was very friendly and quick to help get everything straightened out! I love that as you cross the finish line, your water and snacks are all in a bag and you are handed a bag instead of trying to juggle everything in your hands. The bling is ALWAYS on point and you also can't beat post race mimosas and beer! I would highly recommend this race and it's one of those local races I will run every year!

Palmetto Bluff is a beautiful little corner of the world to run through! It was a very small marathon with a total of 63 people running it this year so there is no crowd support if that is something you are looking for. However, it is easy to PR with a pancake flat and fast course with no crowds which is always a plus. I've run the half in the past and the full this year and the bling is always nice! It was an extremely hot day. The race didn't even start until 9:15 (15 min late) and when you are in the south, that is way too late! Temps reached 84 degrees by the time I was done. My disappointment is after crossing the finish line. I was in the middle to front and shortly after me, the post race party packed up and left before all 63 runners crossed the finish line. After I recouped a little bit, I walked over to the post race party to find all of the promised BBQ pork sandwiches gone as well as the beer! The photographer also left and didn't get photos of anyone crossing the finish line at about 4:30 or later. Which isn't even an unreasonable time to finish! When messaging the race directors about this, the only reply was "thanks for your feedback". This race seemed to be geared more towards the 10k and half distances with everyone packing up early. Probably wouldn't recommend this as a marathon to anyone.
