Local race that had a fun, laid back atmosphere set in the downtown area. The course was very flat for the area which made it easy and fast. There was a larger hill to go down at about .5 mile and came up around 1.5 mile with the rest of the course being relatively even.
Bib pick up was quick and easy the night before, but the space was small and congested. Race organizers and volunteers were very nice. We received a shirt for the Beer fest and sweatshirts for our entry. The sweatshirts will be donated due to being so incredibly small that we cannot use them. (I double checked the size and we received the correct ones)
The after race party was fun with extra beer tents and the Beer Mile contest. Post race goodies included a breakfast burrito, 1/2 banana, mini muffin and granola bar.

I signed up for this race on a whim while training for a half marathon so I had no knowledge of the race history before going in to it. Registration the day before the race was fast and easy. They had plenty of shirts available in all types of sizes. This race prides itself on the quality of their shirts and this years was a super soft, long sleeve hoodie.
Morning of the race everyone was excited and there was a good community atmosphere. Many people were there for the 5k in support of the Care to Learn charity benefiting local school children. There were a lot of walkers and those with strollers and/or animals in the 5k.
There was a large post-race 'party' where there were massages, good snacks, and a large amount of prize giveaways. Many people stayed after the race to meet up with friends and family and see if they won anything.
I recommend this race and am considering doing it next year, or volunteering for it. This race was in Downtown Springfield and had rolling hills.

This was our first Disney race. I took my son/Star Wars fan to the 5K as a treat for working out with a personal trainer for a year. It did not disappoint. The characters were fun and different than you usually get to see in the parks . My favorite were the Ewoks and his was Boba Fett and Chewbacca. The energy and excitement of being amongst fellow Star Wars fans was truly infectious. Star Wars weekend has some of the best costumes you will see at a Disney race.
Disney does an amazing job of preparing you before and during your trip. On site transportation was easy and very accessible. The expo was fun and entertaining with so much to look at and buy. As first timer's I still wish I had known more about the weekend events but we had a ton of fun none the less.
