I first ran this race in 1988. In 2019, I ran my 17th KDF Mini. Th is race has changed over the years but the current course is flat and runs by some louisville landmarks: Slugger field, Slugger museum, Old Louisville and runs thru Churchill Downs. You get to watch the Derby horses going thru their morning warmup. Heading back into town, you can see the skyline.
This race is consistent. A consistent crowd support. The expo is fine, nothing to get excited about.
The after party at the waterfront makes for a great day to hang out with friends.
It is a fun race.
