I would always highly recommend this race event as a destination/goal race event for those seeking to complete their 1st 10K or as a seasoned 10K event runner looking for a flattish scenic course. It starts and finishes and goes through Kansas City's Plaza district and as it passes near the Nelson Atkins Museum and has a downhill to flat finish. With only 3 hills throughout the course, they are manageable for sure but makes this course one of the flattest ones in Kansas City. Swag is always high quality shirts that are super comfy, and the finisher medal is always awesome.

I have participated both as an expo volunteer at packet pick up and a 5K and Half marathon participant in this event since 2011 when I started my run "career". This race will never be off my schedule as long as I am able to. The expo is always a great event with many vendors and organizations and other race events to browse and shop at. The race event is always a gorgeous morning with a wave start with the start of the half marathon with the 5K 30 minutes afterwards. The course follows along Ward Parkway to Loose Park along rolling hills and past the Meyer fountain and scenic neighborhoods along the way. Always great crowd support and course support with water/Gatorade stations every two miles approximate.
