Great race as always. This was my third Cowtown 1/2 and is now a part of my regular racing schedule. This is a big event and is well organized. Getting to the expo can be tricky (parking) but I went on Saturday and was able to get in and out. The expo is large but easy to navigate. I thought the t-shirts were better this year...sometimes the colors are wacky! The race itself was good. The weather was a bit warmer this year but still not bad. I would say the course overall is fair but there are some pretty big hills that aren't fun. The large hill at mile 9 sucks!! The medals this year were large cowboy hats which I thought was cool....but the bells became super annoying. You could hear us coming from a mile away...lol! The "after party" is decent. My only complaint is the beer situation. They give you two free beer tickets but they serve draft beer and the line was a mile long. Overall a great race. I will be back next year.

What a great experience! You couldn't ask for a better setting. The course was good. There were some challenging hills but I thought it was fair overall. The weather was perfect and you always had a view of the mountains. Finishing on the field at the Rose Bowl was amazing! Packet pick up was easy. They had multiple locations set up around the area. We chose to pick up at the Rose Bowl so it was a little more crowded. There wasn't an expo which is fine with me. The t-shirts were average but the medals were awesome. After the race you could spend as much time on the field as you wanted and two beers were provided at the post race party. Overall a great experience.
