I have run the Allstate Chicago Hot Chocolate Race many times and so I knew the virtual experience would be just as great! With the virtual experience you have the flexibility of choosing the race day and time! Lucky for me, I live in Chicago! I made my own virtual race experience during the planned race weekend of November 7-8th. You have until January 1, 2021 to log your race results!
The race coordinators were very good about sending information to the runners. The race also had an event day Facebook page for each specific host city. This really made the race feel like a community!
It was really easy to log your time and feel included! The swag was amazing! they sent a hooded, zip up sweater with a removable hood. This is such a great winter running piece. They also included two servings of hot cocoa, chocolate, honey stinger waffles and your MEDAL! I received all of this swag before race day so I was able to enjoy it right after my 15k race.
Feeling this close to the Allstate Hot Chocolate race community virtually, I can't wait to be back in person next November! Highly recommend visiting Chicago and running this race! no better way to see this city!

I wish I was able to run this race in Des Moines to get the full IMT Des Moines experience. Nevertheless, I was able to experience the Virtual race in my hometown of Chicago. With the virtual experience you have the flexibility of choosing the race day and time! I am an early riser so I like that I am able to start before 6am and watch the sun rise! I still opted to run the race during the actual race weekend. the race had to be run between Oct 16-31st.
The race coordinators were very good about sending information to the runners. The race also had an app that worked perfectly with an IPhone. the app helped runners by providing instructions on how to submit your time, provided a place to submit your time, and much more. You were able to sign up for motigo audio message to listen to during your run, as well as a playlist that was created for runners. they even hosted a virtual village! This really made the race feel like a community!
It was really easy to log your time and feel included! I haven't received my race swag yet but i know i have a short sleeve tee, buff, and medal coming my way and i can't wait!
Feeling this close to the IMT race community virtually, I can't wait to see what they have to offer in person!
