I have run the half marathon for LV RNR 3 years and then did the full last year. At mile marker 11, you split off the strip for 11 miles where it is dark and not well lit. Well, needless to say, I stepped in a pothole in a dark area and tore my MCL... I will be definitely sticking to the half going forward, which is an amazing course that stays on the strip.

The course is a beautiful course that goes up a windy hill for the first 6.5 miles that overlooks the beautiful Columbia River. This is made better by the race being in the fall with all the leaves changing colors and falling off. The course is challenging due to being all hill for the first half and then all downhill for the second half.. but the views and course management makes it all worth it!

I have ran over 50 half marathons or full marathons. This race is still by far, the best race weekend there is. The race directors make everything perfect from transportation to the start, fireworks, a beautiful course that goes through marshlands and finally ends in beautiful downtown Missoula. A must do!
