This was supposed to have been my 6th and final half marathon of the year. Little did I know it would be my only live half marathon this year. This course is absolutely gorgeous, at times running right along the coast line, with the start and finish right near the beach. Despite all the challenges the race director did an amazing job. Despite not being properly trained I had a PR by 15 minutes. From what I understand there were less aid stations than in previous years but there was still enough and not have to carry your own. Looking forward to next year.

This was my first ever half marathon that was the final race in a challenge series. I really had no idea what to expect. The whole experience was beyond amazing. Hartford Marathon Foundation knows how to organize a race. There were plenty of aid stations on course, as well as helpful volunteers to answer any questions. The course were lined with nothing but positive spectators cheering everyone on. There was plenty of entertainment along the route as well as police ensuring the athletes were safe. Going into the final chute and crossing the finish line was beyond words. I can’t wait to run it again.
