For a first time marathoner, I couldn't have asked for a better marathon to be initiated into the marathon world with! It was a beautiful course, a supportive and fun crowd throughout who really added to the overall positive and encouraging vibe, lots of hydration stations along the way, the only real downside was the weather being so muggy, but I don't think that I can blame the city of Chicago for that one! It was a life-changing experience. Highly-recommend!

In 2020 we were running as snow came down upon us! The weather conditions made for a very tough race. It was windy, snowy, wet, and slippery, but they did their best to keep the course safe for us. However, there were parts of it where you had to "off-road" and by the end of it we were all wet, muddy, and freezing! Kind of a trial by fire sort of first half-marathon experience for me! I must have liked it though because I ran the race again the subsequent year!
