Several front half marathon and marathon runners went off course due to poor marking and were brought back to the course thanks to a bike pacer. It would have been nice to have the highway which we ran over (down and back and down and back for the marathon) cleaned for the race there was trash and road kill throughout the road. Also there are so many beautiful places in HH that would have been nice to have seen instead it was the interstate. The race only had 2 timing mats at the beginning and at the end. Nothing on any turn around points. With that they were allowing runners who signed up for the marathon to stop at the first half and then just tell someone they were only doing half - but isn’t this a Boston Qualifying race… Just doesn’t seem smart with only having those 2 timing mats. Once I finished I went over to the hidden small awards tent and the gentleman at the tent told me exactly what gender place and overall place I finished. (Side note - I was first female overall and I received 2 extra free beer tickets and a hat they were trying to sell at registration- I heard from age group winners they received nothing). Now that the race is over and the results are posted online they are not correct on the website even though the guy at the tent told me my actual results. Several of the full marathon runners who chose to just do the half are listed as top runners.

And we are still waiting for our swag to be mailed with no ETA on it.

Very disappointed at this race and very much so my first marathon win for it to be like this. Definitely will NOT be recommending this race or doing it again.
