The Falling Springs Endurance Run is a competitive 6-hour and 12-hour trail racing event. The course is listed as a 4-mile cross-country-style course through the rolling hills of Falling Springs Park in Versailles, Kentucky. The course was a bit short this year at about 3.75 miles. The course was basically a field cut low enough for easy running.
This was my first year running this event and I would definitely run it again. Essentially, you run as many or as few laps as you would like in the time frame you signed up for (6hr/12hr). For the most part the course was easy to run with only one pretty large hill that felt like it got bigger with each loop.
I ran the 6 hour race and completed 9 loops with 10 minutes to spare. The course was pretty well marked and easy to follow without getting lost. There was no aid on the course itself but the typical race staples at the start/finish line with chips, cookies, bananas, tailwind, and water.
The restrooms were just past the start/finish line with plenty of stalls, so it was easy to duck in and out as needed.
The race was reasonably priced but did not include a shirt or anything of that nature. You had the option to buy a shirt if you wished. This is a good alternative to having all those race shirts laying around that you don't ever wear.
You could not park along the course as I have done at many other cross-country style trail races, but you could put up a tent along the race path for those who wanted easy access to their own race supplies and nutrition.
Every runner received a commemorative empty whisky bottle that had a sticker reflecting the race title in which the race volunteers wrote your completed distance on your bottle for you as you finished.
Overall this was a good race for everyone of all fitness levels. No pressure, laid back, with a loop that is easy for running or walking
