The Rock and Roll Nashville race delivers on the experience factor with lots of music and energy along the route but in 2022 the weather and hills made this a tough day to race. The race started at 64 and 97% humidity and hit the low 80s by the finish on a sunny day. The first half of the course if very hilly, middle section very flat but open so the sun was beating down and then last few miles run through a park twice with a big hill climb at 21 and 23. Overall 1500 feet of elevation change and the temp made it a very tough race. Overall well managed but the logistics were a bit tough with parking at the finish requiring a long walk or shuttle ride to start line.
Since it's a rock and roll series race you have VIP options (I did a VIP level that got me better parking and a prerace area to hang out-- it was a local Nashville bar with snacks and private bathrooms near the start line). Overall a solid race with great people- but be ware the course won't give you a PR day...

This is a great Atlanta tradition and as always a well run race by the Atlanta Track Club. The weather was perfect (low 40s) and the course is fun in that it takes you through the heart of Atlanta (Georgia Tech, Midtown, MLK district) and start/finishes under the Olympic rings near the old Olympic Stadium. Having attended those Olympics it's quite nostalgic as you run for the finish in that same area. Course has some hills but nothing major-- I helped pace a friend to his first sub 2:00 finish and the crowd energy really helped (each neighborhood has people out with signs and bells). You get a great community feel before your family celebration-- really adds to Thanksgiving Day. Highly recommended.

Absolutely loved this race. Well run with a great outdoor expo and vibe at the start/finish. Course is a little hilly (save some energy for two big uphills at mile 12/13) but the crowd is the real draw here. The weekend includes volunteer activities and the Afro-Centric theme is unique in the racing world. The course also takes you through Atlanta's Historically Black College campuses and several students groups/cheerleaders from the colleges are on the course making the energy super for the race. I really enjoyed this race and highly recommend it.
