It wasn't awful for an initial race, really. Running through parking lots that smelled like cow manure was not the most scenic part of the race, and there was little to no community support. Also, I nearly was struck by a car while sprinting as a result of the police officers misdirecting traffic. The event itself appeared to be quite well organized, and the medal and race bag were both excellent values.
