This is the second time I ran this race, and it was just as perfect this time as the first time several years ago. The course has a few decent uphill sections, but overall it felt more downhill and flat. You do two loops for the half marathon and it was by far the most well marked course I've ever ran, especially for a small town race. I always knew where I needed to go even when I lost sight of the pack of runners in front of me. There was literally no way I could have gotten lost unless I never looked down at the ground to see all of the hot pink and blue markings and just guessed at where I should turn. Plus, it's a loop, so you run the exact same course the second time as you do the first time. There were at least three officers on the course and plenty of water stations. The water started freezing at the first few water stops, but the volunteers must have figured out a solution because it was fine every time after that. Obviously my favorite part was the pancakes and sausage at the end. And the fact that they waited for every runner to cross the finish line before they shut down the food or any of the water stops. I love that! Awesome race that was well organized, affordable and an overall rare treat in February in Minnesota.
