This was a great race and people of Carmel make it even better. The scenery during the race is pleasant and the course is a loop if you do the full, so be prepared to see it twice.
I was told this a relatively flat race but it did have its share of gains throughout the course. There are plenty of aid stations throughout the course, and I ran with only gels staying hydrated the entire race.
At the start of the race you will be split between 13.1 and 26.2 . They send everyone out at once , so stay in your lane and follow your crowd. I second guessed myself out of the gate and thought I might be going with the half and not the full. But I also had my head phones in and was not listening... so don’t be like me and pay attention.
