Emma 's thoughts:

This was my first half marathon event. It is a road race around the bays in Wellington City. The race starts in the city on the waterfront. There is a great atmosphere and a fun warm-up on the start line for runners to participate in.

The course is flat along the way winding around the harbour and bays. There can be a strong headwind in areas, depending on which way the wind is blowing. The day I ran it got quite warm but there were plenty of aid stations along the way.

The finish line has a great atmosphere. The last few kms of the race you run along closed road and there are a lot of spectators lined up along the way cheering everyone on.

It is a course that you could set a very good race time on if you are an experience runner.
