Ashley Castaneda's thoughts:

This was my first time running the Cowtown race. We had difficulty finding the designated parking areas (mostly because of bad directions from a police officer) but once we found a garage, it was smooth sailing to the start line.

I thought the rolling start worked really well and helped my hesitation of easing back into in-person races. Volunteers made sure people wore mouth/nose covers until they got on the course; I really appreciated that too.

It's Texas so it was a warm morning of the race, but I think this was not the month they usually host it. Since I wasn't familiar with the course, it was nice to be able to just run and take in the surroundings as a visitor. I always carry water with me so I don't remember much about the aid stations. There were some bands and entertainment along the course to which helped pass the time.

The finish area was crowded and didn't flow all that great so a lot of people congregated in one small area. It didn't help that a gate was closed and people couldn't pass through.

Overall it was a fun race to experience and I would run it again!
