This was my first marathon, and it truly was the experience of a lifetime and one I'll never forget. P3R does a fantastic job with all of their races throughout the year, and this one tops them all! The atmosphere is incredible, and getting to run through so many neighborhoods of Pittsburgh and experience what Pittsburgh is all about, from the people to the bridges to the rivers to the energy, is nothing short of incredible. The course itself is well designed and features a number of bridges and hills, which can offer quite a challenge from an elevation standpoint. There are plenty of hydration and aid stations throughout the entire course, as well as lots of bystanders willing to help out as well with snacks and drinks (it's one of the things I love about the people of Pittsburgh). The expo beforehand was fantastic, and the swag was great. There were plenty of opportunities for some great photos as well before, during, and after the race. Being from the Pittsburgh area, I can't speak necessarily to lodging, but there are plenty of affordable parking garages and nearby areas you can park at that are fairly accessible. All in all, this is a race that should be on everyone's bucket list!
