Vanessa 's thoughts:

I must say this was such a fun race to run! Not only is the weather pleasant (nice and cool winds coming in from the Gulf of Mexico), but a chance to run with other women is very inspiring and empowering.

So here is my breakdown of the Diva Half Marathon-Galveston:
1.Parking: Parking was held at Moody Gardens which means there were plenty of parking spaces. (Race day instructions were to be there by 6am, and there was plenty of parking).
2. T-shirt swag: Ehhhhhh, I have to say that I was very disappointed with the shirt. It seemed way to plain for such a big race that is promoted all over the U.S.
3. Water Stations: The water stations were located approximately every 1.75 miles, which I didn't seem to mind. I usually don't start hydrating until I've hit the 6 or 7 mile mark, so I really appreciated how they spaced out the water stations. The volunteers were all nice enough to say what they were holding out "water" or "Gatorade", which I seemed to like because I hate it when I'm expecting to grab Gatorade and instead get water :/
4. Course Scenery: ABSOLUTELY AHHH-MAZING! When we started to hit the sea wall portion of the race, everyone was taking pictures of how beautiful the sunrise was! It was truly a Kodak moment, and everyone was taking pictures. The course starts/ends at Moody Gardens, hits the seawall, and runs through some of Galveston's nice neighborhoods.
5. Race Management: I believe that the Divas Half Marathon-Galveston was highly organized down to hitting 13.1 miles on my Nike+ app and on their timer. ( I feel like some races extend there mileage or is that just me?)
6. Medal Bling: I saved this one for last, because if you run the half marathon, you will definitely love your medal! It may break your neck, but the medal is nice!
