The Fleet Feet Liberty Mile is one of the faster road race courses you'll find yourself coming across. This event takes Friday Night Lights to another level with the incredible atmosphere and crowds of people surrounding the course (whether gathered to cheer on runners or enjoying an evening out in Pittsburgh at a restaurant on an outdoor patio). The course is a fairly straightforward one down Penn Ave before turning to come back on Liberty Ave. The very flat nature of this course makes for a perfect opportunity to PR your mile time! P3R always does a fantastic job of putting on races in Pittsburgh, and this one is no exception! The t-shirt / swag was great, and some of us (myself included) even won a bonus prize for having our randomly selected elite runner win the mile! With how short this distance is and having the elite runners go last, it's also a great opportunity to meet some elite athletes, which is really cool experience.
