This is my 2nd year running the Kewash half marathon. This race is organized by runners and it shows in every detail:
--the course was spot on, mile markers were accurate.
--Traffic control was good. Never felt unsafe on roads
--mostly flat, shady course
--trail well-maintained
--addition of pacers this year took it to the next level
--chip on bib (unlike some other local races)
--post race food and drink
--long sleeve t shirt
--adequate water stops (but more gatorade, gu etc. would have been nice)
-- free race pics
--knowing that proceeds go to local school programs
--parking is close
--out and back loop avoids hassle of shuttles, drop bags, etc.
--fun to meet up with runners from different states as well as local running friends
