Our group (from the Midwest) was looking for a warm weather race in the middle of February. This race fit the bill. Lodging near the race is limited. Packet pick up was easy, and the vendors and volunteers at the Expo were friendly and efficient. The half marathon starts and ends at Prospect Park. We parked at the Rodeo grounds and took the shuttle. We didn't have to wait too long before or after the race for the shuttle. We didn't use gear check, so can't comment on that. The course was scenic, slightly hilly, and well-marked. Water stations every two miles, but only a few had Gatorade. There was gel at the half way point. Post race medals and long sleeve tech shirt are nice. Although there seemed to be food, drinks, massage etc. post race, we didn't stick around. We walked around a bit trying to figure out where to catch the shuttle back to the parking lot. The organizers cap this race to a manageable number and you can tell they know what they are doing. Overall, a great small town race and we wouldn't mind returning for the full marathon next time.
