Race Management
So first off, this race was stupid cheap. $60 for a full marathon? Sign me up. I was a little wary given the distance issues the past couple years, but the new group managing the race did a great job. The course was fine, only 1 real hill but quite a few slight inclines that I think only really count as hills to fellow Chicagoans. It was great for spectators, my friends were able to see me at the same exact spot 3x along with the start and finish. The quarter zip fleece and tech tee both seem like great quality. 3:40 pacers were excellent.
Areas for improvement in my opinion:
-Why were the water cups plastic? Makes it harder to drink while running without spilling.
-I get that it was a budget marathon, but the expo was crazy small (only 2 vendors) (but packet pickup was really easy so I appreciate that)
-Snacks after the race ended were definitely lacking. Some fruit or protein bars would have gone a long way for me.
