Let me preface my review by saying I paid $26.20 for this race, which I consider a very good value. Packet pick up was easy, parking was easy and free, the pre-race atmosphere was fun and laid back. There were no corrals but people just lined up where they felt they should be and it worked out fine. The course was mostly flat with a few short inclines. We ran through a pretty harbor area, then through a small town area. At this point we were confined to the bike lanes but runners never really bunched up so it was not an issue. The course eventually made its way through town, then back to the lakeside trail which was gorgeous. Finish line announcer was great and it was a nice laid back atmosphere overall.
My only complaint was that there were NO portapotties on the course except at the start/finish, and Mile 7. There was a portapotty at mile 10.5 but it was a permanently affixed one at the marina (not put there by the race). And only one portapotty at mile 7!! This made for a very uncomfortable race for several of us. I had a friend running the marathon who confirmed they also only had a portapotty at mile 7 and then at 21 (the same one at the marina). If the race director can fix this in future years, I would highly recommend this race and give it 5 stars.
