I've done this race three times in the past 5 years. The first two times were OK- not great, but not awful. The 2021 version was one of the worst organized races I've ever done.

The race start time got delayed for 30 minutes. This is after everyone warmed up, got lined up, and were ready to start. And of course they did it airport delay style- first, 10 minutes, then another 10, then another 10. It was so cold out and this is just completely unacceptable to me.
It's unacceptable to me, in part, because it was due to their own decisions regarding event parking. Apparently, they had enough spots but couldn't get everyone in to spots in time. I don't know why they couldn't just start the race and have other start as they got parked? Either way, just not ideal to have the majority of participants standing at the starting line getting colder and colder because they couldn't manage parking.

Also, the event website listed gear check time and said the entire course was on a paved course. Got to the event early for gear check- was told there was no gear check. And, part of the course was on unpaved, uneven grass.

I'm a race volunteer myself- I know the hard work that goes in to these events, but, a delayed start time plus flat out wrong information on their own race website is just unacceptable and I will not be back at this race.

And honestly that's a shame because it's local and convenient for me. I also had the best half marathon of my life at this race due to the great pack of runners/pacers I was with.
