First time doing this race and it was a great time! I drove in from Fort Worth so got in a little later than I had originally hoped. It looked like parking might be an issue but there were plenty of parking garages so all was good.
You got to start and end on one of Dallas' more famous bridges - Ronald Kirk Bridge. It is super cool and a bit of a staple. Super wide! There were plenty of aid stations and the volunteers and police force were awesome! Incredibly helpful. My only issue was that some of the areas got really, really tight. There was one area a little widerer than a sidewalk that had running traffic coming and going. The bridges were also super narrow - made it almost impossible to pass or get out of the way. Those are SMALL gripes because by that point, most of the crowd had dispersed enough that you were spread out. Was a little hilly with the bridges up and down but it was a nice change of pace. It did get pretty warm and windy by the end but hey, it's Texas.
At the finish line they had water and plenty to eat and FREE 26.2 beer. The medal is HUGE and awesome! I'll definitely be running this race again. Good times.
