MIsha Bittleston's thoughts:

I ran this marathon in Feb 2023. The start was beautiful, but after that the course just got worse. The expo was disorganized and they could not find my partner’s bib, there were lots of kids behind the tables who did not know what they were doing and few adult supervisors, which accounted for some of the disorganization. The parking and bus situation to get the the start was atrocious, I won’t go into detail but they only had one way in to park for the busses and it was completely inaccessible, and a total clusterfuck. At the expo they made parking and catching the bus sound easy but it was very stressful and completely disorganized, even though we got there very early by the time we had parked we were part of a stressed out crowd all trying to get a bus in hopes of making it to the start on time, which we barely did, but my bro who I was running with did not have time to make it to the bathroom which really messed up his race. The water stations were mostly children and they did not know how to hand out water, also the cups were very small and barely filled, many of the runners were complaining about not being able to get enough water and I have never experienced hydration stations that are so poorly managed with kids all crowded together, holding tiny cups by their rims, and barely able to get any water. I was the most dehydrated after this marathon that I have ever been. They had bottled water at the finish, but after you leave the finish area you will have to find somewhere to buy a drink. The end section is in the middle of the road and the sides of the street are or downed of for a long way so that you have no one able to cheer for you, and it is not a pleasant feeling to run in the middle of the road down a narrow chute. In general this marathon was a mess. I loved running with my brother until he had to stop and go to the bathroom, and the landscape of the first few miles was magical, but the lack of organization, the crappy water stations and the lack of community cheering, aside from one area where kids hade made fun signs, made it a Marathon that I would not recommend or want to ever run again.
