Maureen 's thoughts:

I ran this race as a goal half marathon to try and beat my previous half marathon record (on this course years earlier with no training - stupid move on my part). I went to Rutgers so I knew the course pretty well just from being a student. Overall I found parking extremely easy and arrived early to park near the finish and then take the bus to the finish line.

The shuttles drop you off about .25 miles or so from the start line so even though I had arrived early, I felt rushed to drop my gear off and get in the corral to start. They did not have signs to judge where in the corral you should go to start which I find annoying since it's hard to judge where to stand. The pacers barely held the time signs up which added to the annoyance of no mile signs on the outside of the corrals.

The course has a lot of turns in it! Be ware of that and factor it in to your time goal. I ran 13.32 miles and stayed on the inside of turns when possible. The weather made a good course a little eh since the wind was brutal at some points but that's not in anyone's control. The crowd seemed to be a little low this year because of the weather I believe. The finish was really well organized at the very start. When you crossed the line people were handing out medals, then water and finally the space blankets which felt amazing. The food bag was farther away from the finish line with no signs pointing to it or volunteers stating where it was. I grabbed my gear and then just kind of wandered until I found food.

Overall a great course (minus cold and windy weather), well organized and I would race it again for sure.
