Ran this 7 years ago and didn't receive a finishers medal. Actually didn't know that was a thing. Then my wife begins to run and starts getting them. So of course, I want in on the action and begin training again.
This race explicitly states on sign up that there is a finishers medal.
So crossing the line you could see the dissapointment when the cheap 25 cent license plate is handed out.
Feeling a bit put off for a few days I emailed the race director and got an email and was called with a sincere apology and offer to make right. This literally floored me because you just don't expect that.
So, I will run this one again because of its location and flat terrain makes for great personal bests.

Beautiful run through historic Fredericksburg. We read about the vaunted Hospital hill and trained the best we could as we are not used to the hills.
When we came to it, we were ready and took it on. Created the hill with pride and even picked our pace up until the end.
Just be prepared for traffic and walking before and after. It is a congested area but during the run, the organizers keep it free and clear.
