Race Start and Course: it starts at the stadium and this year they had a Trumpet player play the National Anthen and it was fabulous! The course is on the road and follows the Great Miami River! It’s 95% flat! The 5% is just a bit of a hill, Promise! Along the course the Dragons Cheer squad and Drum Crew keep you going!

Post Race: walk into the stadium for water and fruit! Simple but enough. Free foto both and games for the kids!

ME: Great race through Furman University Campus! Good organization and ease to pwtkeing and race start and finish! At the start at the face there was a wonderful singer for the National Anthem! And the race starts with a Bang! If you have never been to Furman you will get to see the entire Campus and lake and see Paris Mtn. course is flat and fast! I powerwalked it with my mom! The event is family friendly! You finish by entering the Timmons Stadium with a row of American Flags! Post race activities for the kids and free giveaways!

The race course has been updated and is now record eligible and USATF certified. The new start line is in the parking lot adjacent to the north stands at Paladin stadium. The route circles the mall and loops around the Duke Library at the center of campus. The course then goes across the dam at Swan Lake and takes the paved path around the lake, using the new footbridge at the north end of the lake. The route passes the Amphitheater, goes left on Bell Tower Road to Roe Ford Road, then goes right on Roe Ford Road back to the mall. After coming down the mall road, the course rounds the circle in front of the PAC and goes down the driveway to the North Stands. Runners enter at the back gate of the stadium and finish in a blaze of glory at the 50-yard line at Paladin Stadium.

This is an out and back race with min street usage then you are on the Great Maimi River Trail. This race is a combo with a a fall Sweethearts Day 5k/10k (Oct). If you sign up for both at the same time its a cost saver. They partneed up with a local pub and the post race food is great. Also being that its Chocolate is in the title they partnered up with Kiliwans and free chocolate is available after the race. Lots more 5K participants than 10K participants.
