This race lacks communication from the directors. After speaking to other runners, the general concensus was that the race isn’t run as well as it used to be, but yet the costs are still high. The highlight is seeing most runners in their costumes with some going all out which is fun. Spectators lack on this course. While running past the 10-mile finish, I saw a couple of runners have to jump the curb to cross over, the split should be better marked with some guidance. The Summit Ave stretch if the course is scenic, but the stretch on Sheperd Road not so much. The post race festivities drew a pretty good crowd.

I have run this marathon the past two years. It has a small field, but it is extremely well organized. The aid stations have enthusiastic volunteers. Your family/spectators can get to multiple spots quite easily. The course is flat and scenic on a paved trail through scenic woods. Both times I have run this course, I have PR’d and gotten Boston qualifying times. You will find that most runners you come across on the course are super friendly.
