This was my first 10K to do and I really enjoyed it. It was a very busy race but they had warm-ups led by Orangetheory fitness which was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed the course because we got to run along the river some however we were in neighborhoods for a small portion of it. The course was not overly challenging for a beginner and I definitely plan on doing the half marathon this coming year. The aid stations were about every 2 miles which I thought was a good spacing but there wasn’t much else other than water and electrolytes. This is a great local race for those who are in the Dallas-Fort Worth area and the after event was also very good. They had pumpkin flavored beer as well as pumpkin spice lattes and really got into the theme of the event. I would highly recommend this event for others especially new runners who are nervous such as i The aid stations were about every 2 miles which I thought was a good spacing but there wasn’t much else other than water and electrolytes. I thought this race was an awesome one for those living in Dallas Texas as well as a great first half marathon. The swag was a dark blue jersey long sleeve which was super cute. The only sad thing was the beanies for the race were only given to the first 750 participants and I didn’t get one :(. There were plenty of water stations about every 2 miles or so. The only bad thing was there weren’t really any places to stop to use the restroom along the course. The course was very pretty and I only had mild ups and downs. The bridges that we crossed however shook when runners were on them which unfortunately it made me a little bit dizzy. The race staff and volunteers were really nice and excited to be there. Overall I would highly recommend this race and I thought it was a lot of fun and an easy thing to do since I live nearby.
